Sewing Box Plan

#NWW025
Difficulty: New Woodworker & Up

By Tom Hintz

This Sewing Box is an updated version of one built by my wife's grandfather for her mother many years ago. I made it a bit larger and updated the joinery to make is cleaner looking.

The Sewing Box is 11 7/8"-wide, 11 7/8"-tall and 15"-long. It features hinged lids that hang out of the way on the sides, exposing the roomy interior. The interior is undivided but does have a Thread Block at one end that holds 4 large spools.

The Sewing Box in the photo was made from ½”-thick high-grade plywood but virtually any wood can be used to please your taste.

The Sewing Box plans include full professionally written step-by-step instructions and 6 pages of drawings, including a full-sized template for the End Plates.

The Sewing Box is a great gift for anyone who sews and lets them take their latest project to the patio or wherever they choose.
